Frequently Asked Questions...
BRITAX FRONTIER VS. GRACO NAUTILUS?
Hi,
My son will soon outgrow his convertible carseat. I'm partial to Britax because he has the roundabout now, which we absolutely LOVE.
I'm just looking for some personal reviews on either carseat. And I cannot find the maximum shoulder height on the Nautilus, If you know please let me know.
Thank You!
Answer:
Hi - first - you can go to www.car-seat.org to find many reviews of both seats.
the frontier has about 18" top harness slots - the nautilus has about 19".
The roundabout has about 15.5" top harness slots just for comparison - so either one will give yoru son plenty of room.
The frontier is a bit taller as a highback booster then the nautilus.
The britax can be a bit of a pain to install - you cannot use latch after 42, 48 or 60lbs depending your your car make/model - so at some point, you'll generally have to install with seatbelt - and that's where the frontier can be tricky. There is a long belt path and a short belt path installation - so I'd recommend you make an appointment with a carseat tech - www.seathcheck.org.
I like either - I'd go touch/feel them before you buy them - and try to install them - Babies r us will generally let you try to install a seat before you buy.
