Cars Seem To Always Get Bad Press
Whenever you hear about cars in the news it is hardly ever about the newest model or the brand new safety features that are coming to the car but how people have been injured or killed whilst driving. This is actually quite often blamed on how the car was made when in actual fact it was down to the stupidity of someone at the wheel.
If you were to see two newspapers in a shop one with the front page headline CAR CRASH KILLS 5 PEOPLE or the headline to another with CAR SAVED MY LIFE there is no doubt that you would go for the paper that has the 5 deaths plastered on the front of it. Why on earth is this?
The reason for all of this is really simple and it is because it gets a lot of readers. The really terrible thing is that the bad press brings in people to the newspaper whereas the good press is just not going to lure people in. The big reason why this is happening is because the world is really messed up!
The press will usually blame the car unless it has something to do with speeding, drink or drugs which is wrong as it is often still at the drivers fault. If they were not then it is always presumed that the safety features of the car itself are to blame when this simply is not true. The thing is there are many people out there that really cannot be bothered to put on their seatbelts which means if they were to crash they would have nice portion of their windscreen embedded in their skull.
Speeding is another cause of crashes and happens when some is going 70mph into someone coming around a corner. Death will come very quickly when something like this happens. The car manufacturers should not be put to blame here and it is the people driving them.

There is no reason why you should not be able to resolve the claim with the insurance company. You daughter was a minor. She was a passenger and bears no negligence. If the insurance company has been up front with you to date, wait until your daughter is no longer treating. The insurance company will evaluate her claim and make you an offer which should include her medicals. Since your daughter was a minor a "friendly-suit" may need to be filed. That is, a judge will have to decide if the settlement offer is appropriate. You do not need representation for this either. Usually, the insurance company can draft the complaint, a hearing is scheduled, and the judge decides. Don't be surprised if the judge requires the settlement to be structured and/or places in a savings account until she reaches the age of majority.
