Are Grey Drivers Costing Companies More Than They Thought?
For those that aren't familiar with the term, grey drivers are employees who have privately owned cars but use the cars for business miles and claim them back from the company each month. Many companies feel that this is a cheaper and more effective way of employees doing business miles for the company but this isn't always the case.
A typical grey car driver vould cost the company on average around £3,500 per year and many companies, if asked, probably wouldn't know how many of their employees are actually using their private cars for business purposes. This is mainly due to the fact that the information is held by other departments such as human resources or line managers.
One third of companies allow their employees to do over 7000 business miles a year and some will exceed 10,000. The problem is that many companies just don't realise how much they are spending. Some employees will only use 1000 business miles a year but some will could possibly do in excess of 20,000. The average mileage is around 8500 a year which can add up to a fair amount.
To help companies assess the potential savings available, the Government Commerce has published a business case for reviewing grey fleet and offers alternatives such as lease and rental cars.
If you would like more information on the savings and benefits you could receive by using lease hire cars then why not have a look at www.agilityfleet.com and a wide range of cars from www.windmillleasing.com

Frequently Asked Questions...
Can you fix a cigarette burn in a grey fabric seat of a car?
Can you fix a cigarette burn in a grey fabric seat of a car
Answer:
Yeah, but this trick is a secret! Basically you need 2 things. 1 a disposable razor, and a drop of super glue. You take the razor and scratch some fuzz off a part of the seat that has the same color. Put a drop of super glue on the burn, then put the fuzz on the glue. It should work really good. Used car dealers do this.
